There will be a huge and extensive power maintenance at our Northern Datacenter, it will affect quite a number of users. There is a need to power off and change to a new power line. We are in coordination with the vendors on the maintenance and will update affected customers on the power off and plug back into the new power line. This action will take a few minutes. Main issue is that it involves powering off and on of server and hence the need to keep customers aware of the situation if their servers are in the affected datacenter racks.

A check on our bandwidth usage shows that we have typically doubled our bandwidth utilization due to increased number of quality customers who are taking much more services from us. This leads to another issue of upgrading our systems and core equipment which we will be doing in planned sequences. We planned to increase in stages but need to put in extra redundancies for our core equipment so that we will be more protected against any downtime and also facilitate further expansions with greater ease down the road.

Consolidated 1 server is an old server that are hosting many of our loyal and long time customers. The migration was planned months before and email was send to remind customers of the change. DNS changes and changes of IP are done on our end with the few using external DNS reminded repeatedly that the change would commence on 0600 am +0800 GMT time. The migration went smoothly but we have an expert in software as well as an expert in hardware to standby during this time when we migrate. The DNS has propagated completely and we are thankful for the patience of our customers. Consolidated 1 is necessary to consolidate extremely old and legacy systems into a much newer system that is much more powerful and easier to maintain than legacy systems We will continue to fine tune our systems and improve on our services both software and hardware aspects of it.

Unagi is our oldest email server system and those in them are our valued customers who have been with us for up to 10 years. We Thank You for your patience during the migration period and hope to serve you better with the new Qmail server code named “Shark”.

8 to Infinity is doing a Qmail upgrade for the Lucky and Unagi main Qmail systems to a much faster platform.
Common post-migration issues:
1)Problem: DNS Caching at client side. Unable to retrieve via POP3
Solution: Ask client to login to webmail to check their email to ensure they can login. Then get them to restart computer+modem to clear DNS cache
2)Problem: Client might see double "Trash/Draft/Sent" folder in webmail
Solution: This is due to a conversion of a IMAP server. There will be no impact on this, client can safely ignore it.
Otherwise, everything should be working perfectly fine.

We do know of this issue "554 Message not allowed – [PH01] Email not accepted for policy reasons."
Their explanation that the content of the email is the reason for blocking is strange to us as Churches, Schools etc are all blocked either from Linux or Windows servers and from different networks and Email Systems. We are trying to get into contact with Yahoo to solve this issue once and for all. We thank you for your patience. We are 100% not blocking Yahoo on anything.

We will be greatly expanding our own network and absorb all the existing systems into our network. The allocation of IPV4 is extremely tight. Correspondingly our policy on the issues of IPV4 will follow APNIC and be tightened further. There is really not many IPV4 left and we need to conserve whatever we can. Those who are using Class C for SEO purposes, the IPV4 do not even need to order from us, all along our policies is to help APNIC in their official stance to conserve IPV4, SEO is certainly not a reason for any issuing of extra IPs. We thank APNIC for their farsightedness and fairness in the allocation of IPV4 and also the encouragement for the use of IPV6 and we will certainly promote the use of IPV6.
